CÉLINE DUMARTIN

An illustrator and art director originally from the south-west of France, Céline has developed a naïve, colourful and cheerful visual style, featuring a mix of dogs, text, everyday objects and contemporary scenes.
After training as a cabinetmaker, she studied product design in Paris at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et des Métiers d’Art (ENSAAMA). From this background, she has retained a fondness for simple, narrative forms, capable in their own right of telling a story or conveying a message.
She reinterprets everyday objects with humour and simplicity, creating tender, light-hearted and sometimes offbeat images that appeal to young and old alike.
Deeply attached to animals, she also enjoys using her drawings to support charities and causes close to her heart, particularly those working for their protection and welfare.
Her work has been published in children’s books by publishers such as Marcel & Joachim, Nathan, Larousse, Milan and Bayard, as well as in the press. She also collaborates with brands and organisations in the food, charity, fashion, interior design and tourism sectors, including La SPA, Gimmy, Le Petit Souk, Messika and Club Med.
