A few words about screen printing: invented by the Chinese during the Song dynasty (960-1279) and popularized by the Americans in the 19th century, screen printing is a traditional printing technique that allows the same design to be printed repeatedly with ink thanks to a system of very precise stencils. The ink is spread on a screen with a squeegee, the design is then printed on the fabric. Only one color is applied at the same time by screen printing, if there are several in the drawing, one will carry out different screens. The more colors there are, the more screens must be made, and the more the screen printing is "virtuoso". The screen printing allows a strong deposit of ink thus of broad flat tints of colors, whose intensity will resist the light and time.
