From 26 November 2026 to 9 January 2027, SLOW Galerie Luxembourg presents "Esmorzar", a group exhibition centred around the embroidery of Sandrine Torredemer, also known as La Filature.
Ten years after creating her Instagram account, she returns to the gallery that hosted her first solo exhibition with a collection of previously unseen works.
Originally from Perpignan, Sandrine Torredemer draws on her Catalan roots to imagine a large table setting inspired by the esmorzar, that shared mid-morning meal break taken after the first few hours of work. It is a tradition that celebrates both the pleasure of gathering round the table and that of regaining one’s strength before returning to work.
Alongside her scenes of cafés, terraces, open-air cafés and festive meals, La Filature is hosting six guest artists and designers, invited to create an enchanting and slightly whimsical table setting. Embroidery, ceramics, stemmed glasses and knitted cutlery, floral arrangements, embroidered napkins and scent creations make up this artistic banquet, which is as much to be savoured as it is to be admired, and where every piece has been created specifically for the exhibition. Everyday objects seem to come to life, and the table appears to have been laid for a gathering of extraordinary guests.
La Filature's esmorzar
A grand, creative feast
In Esmorzar, the table serves as the starting point for the exhibition. Set for guests, it brings together works created using techniques as diverse as embroidery, ceramics, knitting, floral art and even scent design.
For this exhibition, Sandrine Torredemer has devised a new series of embroideries dedicated to the pleasure of being together over a drink or a meal: cafés, terraces, open-air cafés, picnics and other social gatherings will be at the heart of her embroidered creations.
Alongside these are Cyril Maisonnave’s knitted cutlery sets, which poetically reinterpret these familiar objects passed down through the generations; Marie-Anne Briskmann’s ceramic stemmed glasses; the pieces crafted by Marie-Noëlle Vidalou, inspired by the simplicity of everyday products and tableware; and the floral arrangements – local and seasonal – by Caroline Selbe; as well as the embroidered napkins by Audrey Demarre, personalised for Esmorzar’s eight mysterious guests, whose identities remain a mystery.
The exhibition also features a brand-new olfactory creation by Céline Burtin. Designed especially for Esmorzar, it accompanies visitors on their journey, evoking the scents of the garrigue, inspired in particular by the vineyards at the end of summer during the grape harvest.
Just like an ‘esmorzar’, where everyone brings something to the meal, each artist contributes to this collective work, conceived especially for the occasion.

Ten years of creative work
Introduced to embroidery at a very young age by her grandmother, Sandrine Torredemer has been developing her artistic practice under the name La Filature for the past ten years. After an initial career in urban planning, she chose to devote herself entirely to embroidery and has developed a personal artistic language fuelled by the reuse of materials.
Old sheets, canvas threads and fabric scraps become the canvases for scenes inspired by press photographs, personal snapshots, landscapes or moments from everyday life.
By reusing these materials, already marked by wear and tear, the artist gives them a new purpose through her embroidery.
SLOW Galerie has supported her work since her first solo exhibition, En hiver je pense à la mer. Since then, her work has been featured in several exhibitions in France and internationally, including Corner of France in New York, Eau bénite in Arles, Fils et Filiations at the Ateliers de Paris, and Parfois à ma fenêtre, presented at SLOW Galerie as a joint exhibition with Hélène Glowinski.
