CLÉMENCE MONNET

After spending her childhood in Sologne, Clémence Monnet studied art history at the Faculté des Tanneurs in Tours and then at the Institut d'Arts Visuels in Orléans. She began her career in the design department of a children's fashion brand, where she honed her skills as a textile designer before moving back to Paris to work as a freelance illustrator.
She has since developed a more personal style and expanded her work to include press and publishing (Revue XXI, Dada, Seuil Jeunesse, Mango, etc.), while continuing to draw in a more personal style.
Her style is a mixture of different techniques, combining watercolour, Indian ink with pen and coloured pencils, sketching everyday life and giving it a poetic dimension.
In addition to her commissioned work, she runs workshops for young audiences and teaches illustration classes to students in the Bachelor of Graphic Arts programme.
