THIBAULT MARCILLY

During his architecture studies in Paris and Denmark, Thibault Marcilly developed a preference for hand drawing as a tool for representing his projects. After graduating from ENSA Paris-Est in 2012 and SciencesPo Paris in 2020, he set up his studio in 2021 on the shores of Lake Annecy. He pursues a multidisciplinary career combining illustration with music and animation. Using shades of blue and orange-ochre, Thibault paints in refined compositions the languid warmth of summer days where time seems to stand still: tiny human figures sometimes inhabit these spaces, offering a sensitive echo to the tranquillity of the setting. The vividness of the colour contrasts, combined with the transparency of the watercolour, allows us to see the play of light and shadow in meditative landscapes where, under the rays of a blazing sun, tranquillity seems to reign supreme.
